Organizations at Canterbury

Student Forum

Canterbury Chapel's student organization is called the Student Forum. This group meets on Wednesday and Sunday nights with additional meetings and functions at other times.  Wednesday nights typically take the shape of a common meal, a group discussion, and a service of Compline. On Sunday night students gather again for a service of Holy Eucharist and dinner afterwards. There are also opportunities for service projects and for group outings that foster community.

Canterbury's Student Forum is at the beating heart of what Canterbury Chapel is about, and we are blessed to have a group of excellent students partnering with us in the Kingdom's causes.

Episcopal Church Women

Episcopal Church Women are women of all ages, ethnic origins, and socioeconomic backgrounds in the Episcopal Church. The mission of the ECW is to empower, motivate, and nurture Episcopal women in using their gifts and talents to serve Christ in this world. Canterbury’s ECW is active in coordinating receptions for special events. They fund projects in the community, including Wilmer Hall, support for Canterbury seminarians, assistance to local teachers, and Christmas gifts for local foster children.

Brotherhood of St. Andrew

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is a world-wide ministry of men and youth in the Episcopal/Anglican Communion and beyond whose mission is to bring men and youth to Christ. It endeavors to accomplish this mission through the threefold disciplines of prayer, study, and service. At Canterbury members meet monthly for breakfast, prayer, and study. They engage in service projects within the church and community that include cooking meals for Canterbury’s Meals on Wheels program.

The Order of the

Daughters of the King

The St. Ann’s Chapter of The Order of the Daughters of the King was established at Canterbury in 2000. This world-wide organization seeks to extend Christ’s Kingdom through prayer, service, and evangelism. Daughters are admitted to The Order following a period of instruction in the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. At Canterbury, the Daughters meet monthly to develop a prayer list and plan projects. In recent years the Daughters have given a stained glass window to Canterbury, provided welcome packs to campers at Special Session at Camp McDowell, and “adopted” Canterbury residents to provide them support and encouragement as UA students.
